Camotes Islands...another visit

Some time ago I met up with Chy (a Filipino girl). We had a nice evening out…with some Belgian beers! Yes I had my first Leffe here! Yummy! But the bar also had kriek, duvel, kwak, westmalle…my o my…loved it :) Anyways she told me she was going to visit Stephanie in Camotes Islands in the weekend. So why not join? :)

Camotes is so nearby, but it takes so long to get there. A nice boat trip, some music, some tanning on the deck…loving it. After 3 hours we arrived at Camotes, where Stephanie and her friend (Gloria) were waiting for us.




Gloria has this wonderful car…so yes we travelled in style...It was so nice…being able to go from one place to another, without the need for habelhabel or jeepney. Four independent women! :) The moment we arrived our tour began. But first (Filipino style) have lunch! We stopped at this wonderful “rock”-resort. Great view, nice food (way too much)… and of course the surroundings asked for a photo shoot :)





After filling our tummies and having some pictures taken we got in our fancy car and drove around the island. Stopping at some nice places, like the beach of Santiago (We were here last time, but high tide..now it was really really low tide) and a viewpoint looking over the island and its lake danau.





Too cool down we went again to the Timobulo cave. Although we already went there last time, I enjoyed it this time even more. We were the only people in the cave…having a relaxing swim...we could have stayed there longer..but the baths were making us clear that the time had come for us to leave their territory :)



Back to Stephs apartment to have a nice dinner…the traditional Filipino way..BBQ, kilaw (raw fish salad, yummy!), rice and all this on some banana leafs..wonderful!



The next day we had to get up early…I wanted to catch the 11am boat back to Cebu and before that we still wanted to visit the Busay waterfalls. The getting up early (you know it’s not my thing) was worth it! Wouldn’t have wanted to miss this. Time again for some swimming and getting natural massages. A bit further up there was another waterfall…kids jumping and having fun! Great!





But time flies…back on the boat...which was packed… I still found myself a spot on the floor…:) The sea was wild and some people beside me were getting seasick and the deck was getting very wet…but in the end it wasn’t so bad…getting closer to shore they put out a bench on the deck..so of course I made use of it…again getting some tan :). And yes…..finally saw some dolphins!!! Wuhuuuuuw not 200 like sarah..but I am happy with 2 :)…although now I only want more…well maybe on my next trip to Camotes :)
